Pastoral Council

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church – Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council is an advisory body to the Pastor that serves him in evaluating and responding to the needs and concerns of the parish members and care of its facilities. The Council’s role is to assist the pastor in providing leadership to the various parish organizations and committees so as to ensure effective communication, understanding, integration and collaboration of each group and to the parish as a whole. The Parish Council is comprised of volunteers and church staff who set priorities, maintain facilities, plan special events and develop the framework through which the parish is able to achieve its mission to evangelize and share the Gospel within the parish and larger Fort Payne and DeKalb County communities.

The Parish Council usually meets the 4th  Tuesday night of the month at 7 p.m., following the 6 p.m. mass. An agenda is prepared in advance of each meeting. If a parish member desires to address the Council, they can simply attend the meeting and present their concern(s), contact the coordinator of the particular committee for whom their concern impacts, i.e., liturgy, maintenance, religious education, Hispanic Ministry, etc., or contact the Church Secretary prior to the meeting at 256-845-4774 or via email:
